Canadian Network of Visual Analytics Centres (CANVAC)

CANVAC is a Canadian Not-for-profit Corporation that was incorporated May 10, 2012, in Vancouver, British Columbia. The purpose of CANVAC is to address the needs of a growing visual analytics (VA) research community in Canada by supporting the requirements of all VA stakeholders, i.e., researchers, developers and user organizations.

Visual Analytics Research & Development Consortium (VARDEC)

VARDEC is an industry led consortium with a mandate to develop and commercialize the latest visual analytics applications and technologies. VARDEC brings together major aerospace companies and small-to-medium sized enterprises to develop and transform the latest technical and academic knowledge into practical solutions that will enhance Canada’s global competitiveness and lead to a greater diffusion of the latest in visual analytic technologies and applications.

Interdisciplinary Research in the Mathematical and Computational Sciences (IRMACS) Centre

IRMACS is a unique, interdisciplinary research facility that enables collaborative interaction - intellectually, physically and virtually. IRMACS focuses on facilitating the human interactions that are critical in interdisciplinary research, removes traditional boundaries between scientific disciplines, and creates a stimulating environment for its researchers.

Media and Graphics Interdisciplinary Centre (MAGIC)

MAGIC was established in 1991 to foster research in media technology that will support economic development in the Province of British Columbia. These goals are achieved through training of highly qualified personnel and transfer of knowledge and technology for media, graphics, visualization, human-computer interaction and communication technologies to the community.

VIVA's lab at UBC will be housed in MAGIC starting November 2015!

Digital Health Hub (DHH)

The Digital Health Hub is helping the world's best academics and researchers build successful digital health solutions for real-world applications. It represents an initiative to accelerate health innovations through SFU's partnership with Fraser Health, City of Surrey and many others within the emerging Surrey Innovation Boulevard. Innovation Boulevard, in its exciting development stages, encompasses a broad-based partnership of academic and health tech industry players in the region.
